1. Introduction

Compresser ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information in connection with our mobile application and services (the "App").

Compresser is an offline-first compression tool for images, videos, and other media files. The App is designed with privacy as a core principle—your files never leave your device.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 AdMob Advertising Data

The App integrates Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob collects the following information:

• Advertising identifier (unique non-personally identifiable identifier for your device)
• Diagnostic and crash data related to ad serving
• General device information (device model, operating system version)
• Limited usage data for ad performance metrics

This data is collected in accordance with Google's AdMob privacy standards and is not shared with us in personally identifiable form. Google's use of advertising identifiers and data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

2.2 Sentry Error Tracking and Diagnostics

The App uses Sentry for crash reporting and technical diagnostics. Sentry collects:

• Crash logs and stack traces
• Technical device information (device model, OS version, app version)
• HTTP request metadata and timings
• User actions that led to errors (anonymized)

Important: Sentry is only active when specifically configured in the App build (via a configured DSN). Crash reports contain no personal identifying information (PII) such as email, phone number, or location. Files being compressed are never sent to Sentry.

2.3 Local Device Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device using AsyncStorage:

• User preferences (compression quality, default formats, theme settings)
• Onboarding completion flag
• Compression history (timestamps and file statistics, no file content)

This data is stored entirely on your device and never transmitted to our servers or third parties.

2.4 Information NOT Collected

We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Personal identifying information (name, email address, phone number)
• File content (your images, videos, or documents never leave your device)
• Location data
• Browsing history or network activity outside the App
• Biometric data
• Payment or financial information

3. How We Use Your Information

• AdMob Data: Used to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad effectiveness
• Sentry Data: Used to diagnose crashes, improve App stability, and fix bugs
• Local Storage Data: Used to maintain your preferences and improve user experience

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. However:

• Google AdMob: Receives advertising identifier and ad-related diagnostics as described above
• Sentry: Receives crash reports and technical diagnostics only when configured
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes

5. Data Retention

• Local Storage: Data is retained on your device until you uninstall the App or clear the App's data
• AdMob Data: Governed by Google's retention policies (typically 90 days for most metrics)
• Sentry Crash Reports: Retained for a limited period (typically 30-90 days) to diagnose issues

6. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: AdMob Privacy Policy
• Sentry: Sentry Privacy Policy

These services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices. Please review their policies directly.

7. Security

We take security seriously. The App operates offline to minimize exposure of your data:

• File compression occurs entirely on your device
• No data is transmitted to our servers
• Local storage is protected by Android's standard file permissions
• Third-party integrations (AdMob, Sentry) use industry-standard encryption

However, no security system is impenetrable. We recommend keeping your device updated and using strong device security practices.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Controlling Advertisements

You have the right to limit personalized advertising on your Android device:

1. Go to Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Data & Privacy
2. Scroll to "Ad settings"
3. Toggle off "Personalized ads"

8.2 Accessing and Deleting Local Data

You can clear all local data stored by Compresser:

1. Go to Settings > Apps > Compresser
2. Select Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Storage

9. Children's Privacy

Compresser is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
